Waitrose and John Lewis to Collaborate More In-store and Inline
September 1, 2009
Waitrose and John Lewis, the two trading divisions of the John Lewis Partnership, are putting their relationship on a more commercial footing with plans to work together more closely in future.
The new agreement will see John Lewis and Waitrose kitchen and homeware products available on-line from a new Waitrose Homeshop at Waitrose.com. Customers can opt to have these goods delivered to their home or ‘click and collect’ from their local Waitrose branch.

Second Foodhall from Waitrose added at John Lewis
At the same time, a second Foodhall from Waitrose has opened at John Lewis Bluewater, the out-of-town shopping centre at Greenhithe, Kent.
According to Waitrose, it builds on the success of the first Foodhall from Waitrose in John Lewis Oxford Street, London.
The new 16,500sq ft foodhall will provide John Lewis customers with a food assortment and specialist seasonal produce.
Looking to the future, there are plans to incorporate John Lewis products (including some bespoke ranges) in newly extended Waitrose branches.
Mark Price, managing director, Waitrose, said: “This is a hugely exciting venture. Working in collaboration with John Lewis and having their products as part of our range will strengthen Waitrose’s presence on the high street even more and will give us a real opportunity to rival our four main competitors with an exceptional non-food offer which will be unmatched.”
